The Charm of Tbilisi: Wine Journey & Bonus Sololaki Grand Entrances

This walking tour pairs Georgian wine culture with old Tbilisi’s architecture. Tastings introduce local drinks, while Sololaki’s entrance halls offer a glimpse into the lives of the city’s mansion owners.

From chacha to wine

The Chacha Museum holds around 300 varieties, with 3–4 available to taste. We then visit two wine cellars, including one of the city’s oldest, operating since the 17th century. Taste up to 14 wines in total and discuss grape varieties and Georgian versus European production methods.

Five Sololaki entrance halls

Between tastings, discuss wine’s place in Georgian culture and Tbilisi’s history. In Sololaki, visit five entrance halls, examine restored heritage buildings and hear about their owners in the oil and tobacco trades. Stops include the house where Niko Pirosmani lived.

An additional walk, on us

The trip also comes with a complimentary walking tour of Tbilisi led by a city guide.
